In case you are not paying attention or have your head buried in the sand, the Wall Street Journal has a very rude wake up call for you.
Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.
Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for “betting against America,” and accuses you of having a “less-than-reputable” record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.
You think this is over the top demagoguery? You aren’t paying attention.
This fundraiser of a president has shown an acute appreciation for the power of money to win elections, and a cutthroat approach to intimidating those who might give to his opponents.
He’s targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama’s real aim.
Now, I will repeat the question I asked the other day, do you think this meglomaniac would peaceably leave the White House on January 20 is Romney wins the election? Even worse, if he wins, do you doubt for a moment that scenario described at the beginning of the Wall Street Journal article would not come to pass? If you think Obama would gracefully exit or treat conservatives civilly you are naive or a fool.
Conservatives are marked. Every one of us we has dared to speak out in the name of Constitutional Government will be a target. It matters not if Obama wins or loses. Should he lose, he will incite a race war that will make 1968 seem like a picnic. If he wins he will be free from any constraints on his behavior and will act like so many of the tinpot despots in Third World hellholes he is so fascinated by. He will become Hugo Chavez.
The choice is clear enough. We either acquiesce and have a socialistic dictatorship, or we fight back and have a second civil world. The Progs will say it is better to prostrate ourselves before “the ONE” than is it to fight back. Of course, they like living in a socialist dictatorship. What about you?
