I admit it. I’m an easy touch when it comes to our military personnel. Check out the newest Medal of Honor winner and the first living Marine to be recognized since 1973 and one of the youngest ever to win it.
When President Obama recently called to tell Meyer he would be awarded the Medal of Honor, the military’s highest honor, Meyer didn’t take the call. Meyer, now 23, was working a new job in construction and asked the president to call him back another time.
“He told me, ‘If I don’t work, I don’t get paid,’ ” Obama recounted with a chuckle Thursday afternoon in the medal ceremony for Meyer in the gilded East Room of the White House.
I wouldn’t take Obastard’s call either. But that really isn’t the point i guess. It’s the all-sacrificing work ethic Sgt Meyer displayed there and on the battlefield. This man should never have to buy a drink again in his life. I certainly will pay for his if we are in the same bar!
It’s almost a sacrilege that such a despicable pile of dog turd as Obama is touching that sacred medal, let alone being in the same space as Sgt. Meyer. At least Obastard didn’t stick his hand in front of Sgt. Meyer face during the photo op.
I love this comment to the (com)Post’s story:
What a brave, humble Marine. It’s amazing that America manages to produce such people. Such a stark contrast to the little man presenting the award.
