So Obastard thinks we are soft?   I like this rejoinder:

So President Obama thinks America has gotten “a little soft” and that we’ve lost our competitive edge.

As Jonah notes below, it’s apparently lost on the president that the logical consequences of many of his policies would reduce more Americans to dependence and indolence.

There is a soft America and a tough America; a dependent America and an independent America; an entitlement America and a productive America. Which policies are more likely to produce a soft, dependent, and entitlement society? Which ones are more likely to produce a tough, independent, and productive society? The president seems blissfully unaware.

The Obama brand of liberalism not only is likely to contribute to a “softer” America, but a soft-headed America as well. We condemn tea-partiers and veterans as racists and potential terrorists but we release actual terrorists from Guantanamo because the evident cruelties of that country-club facility are too terrible to bear. We demonize the hard-won, self-made success of risk-takers, but shovel millions of their hard-earned dollars to prop up the uncompetitive but politically correct enterprises of the well-connected. Government policies proliferate that punish effort, risk, and success but reward sloth, identity, and failure.

Soft America calls a 26-year-old a “child” under Obamacare, but court martials him if he’s a Navy SEAL who slaps a vicious terrorist in the course of capture. Soft America promotes the expansion of speech codes on college campuses so as not to give offense to anyone or anything but the First Amendment. Soft America spends $4 trillion to no effect and then asks for more. Soft America works diligently to turn the societal safety net into a hammock. Soft America bows to tyrants but lectures allies. Soft America waters down our history to give minor or even inconsequential figures as much play as giants. Soft America eschews absolutes, derides standards, ridicules heroes, and scoffs at virtue.

That pretty well captures it.  We get what government we elect and we elected a doozy in 2008. Now we are paying the price.  How’s that hope and change working out for you?

Oh do check this out…

Looks like someone in the White House press office needs to brush up on his or her U.S. geography.

The press office issued credentials to those reporters and photojournalists who are covering the president’s trip this week to Washington state, California, and Colorado. The credential even provides a handy graphic highlighting (in white) which states the president will visit.

The only problem?

Wyoming is highlighted, not Colorado. To be fair, both states are rectangular, nearly identical in size, and stacked next to each other. But we doubt our third grade teachers would buy that!

There are several delicious things about this.  The first is simply that CNN reported it!  OMG!  CNN?!?   I guess the bloom is off the rose, huh?

The second is snark. Don’t you just love it?

Finally there’s the pile on.    For example, ConfederateYankee said

But He’s The Most Brilliant Human Who Has Ever Lived! And so is everyone who works for him. OK, so they can’t tell Colorado from Wyoming, but those are both sparsely populated backwaters in flyover country where the natives are all inbred and vote for Republicans, so what do they care?

They don’t care and they didn’t thing anyone would catch them anyway.

Germany is not happy with HopeyChangey…

Germany and America were on a collision course on Tuesday night over the handling of Europe’s debt crisis after Berlin savaged plans to boost the EU rescue fund as a “stupid idea” and told the White House to sort out its own mess before giving gratuitous advice to others.

Yeah, that’s pretty good advice actually.  But then again, liberals have always been better at talking about problems than solving them and when they try to solve problems it’s a good bet they will make the problems worse.

Hope! Change!

How is that working out for you???

I just have one question.  What the hell are the 19% smoking?

Remember I said something about this last month when I wrote, “Or will he just ignore the results and the Constitution, like he has all through his reign, and just refuse to relinquish office?”   People told me I was being paranoid.  “Hopeychangey would never suggest that elections be invalidated because (fill in the blank…)”

Well, here is the opening salvo:

File this in the random-things-politicians-say file. Speaking to a Cary Rotary Club today, N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue suggested suspending Congressional elections for two years so that Congress can focus on economic recovery and not the next election.

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that,” Perdue said. “You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

The story asks if she is serious.  I would not be surprised if she was.  Remember, socialists are willing to do this sort of thing and a true-blue Alinskyite would have no trouble at all with it.  I believe Obastard is researching some way, any way, he can call off the election because it is getting increasingly unlikely he would be reelected.  Politicians always send up trial balloons and having someone like Perdue say what she did is part of sending up the trial balloon.

It’s not just Perdue, either.  As Confederate Yankee pointed out:

Only days ago, former Obama OMB director, Citigroup executive, and current Council on Foreign Relations fellow Peter Orszag published an article in The New Republic entitled “Too Much of a Good Thing: Why we need less democracy.”

Once is a gaffe (defnied as when a politican accidently tells the truth).  Twice is a campaign.

The Left nutroots will buy it.  Will the independents be lulled by the resulting firestorm? Oh, bet you don’t find the Lamestream media reporting this!
