From Rasmussen this morning:

The latest national telephone survey of Likely Voters finds that 41% say a group of people selected at random from the phone book would do a better job addressing the nation’s problems than the current Congress.

Well, they could!  The current crop of congress critters are are corrupt.  There is no redeeming them.  There may be some “good people” in there, but like a pack of teenagers the whole group descends to the lowest level that they can get a way with.

Rasmussen also tells us that 76% of the voters think Congress should cut their own pay.  Well, yeah.  I have better idea – zero out the pay.  They aren’t worth a single thin dime of our money. Moreover they should reduce the session to something like 120 days a year.  (I would prefer 30 but given the level of people we keep electing to Congress I assume it takes a little longer than that to even find the coat room).

Why not reduce the session time, pay only travel and per diem and make it like a jruy summons.  Randomly select 435 people to serve in the House for a 2 year sentence term. Let the state legislatures elect 2 Senators each (who cannot serve more than one term).

Then, let’s defund all of the Cabinet Departmetns that are not mandated by the Constitution. We will see how long it takes to get the federal deficit down…

Which President Had the Coolest Ride?

Plus this from the Breda Fallacy some World-class snark:

“Oh, great. The bad guys have Dr. Evil and all we have to save us is Pee Wee Herman.”

Of course, there is a positive side to all this…

He certainly does not care about the border.  He only cares about enriching the bureaucracy.  Here’s a bit from Oliver North:

After Cochise County rancher Bob Krantz was murdered by an illegal border jumper on March 27th of this year, the Obama administration promised to deploy 1,200 National Guardsmen to “assist the U.S Border Patrol on the Mexican border.” Arizona will get fewer than 550 of them – when they finally arrive. Not one cent of the $600 million appropriated by Congress this month for “Border Security” will go to any of the border states or county sheriffs. The money all goes to federal agencies.

Instead of new weapons, reinforcements and help protecting our southern border, Arizona’s sheriffs and Governor Jan Brewer received something entirely different from the Obama administration: a federal lawsuit. Last month a federal judge in Phoenix decided Arizona could not enforce certain provisions of a state law – SB 1070 – which allowed Arizona law enforcement officers to ascertain the citizenship of individuals stopped for legal infractions. Arizona filed its appeal in the case this week while we were on the border.

Yeah.  Instead of doing their jobs and sealing the border, Obama’s minions are busy funneling money back to themselves and slapping down anyone who dares challenge “Dear Leader.”

Liberal blogger Beau Friedlander posted this on HuffPo late this afternoon.  Cached at Yahoo:

It is time to pop the tea baggers’ favorite balloon (so what if it will be replaced by another?), and with that in mind I hereby offer to negotiate a $100,000 payday to the person who will come forward with a sex tape or phone records or anything else that succeeds in removing Glenn Beck from the public eye forever. I am not offering the cash myself, but I will broker the deal and/or raise the money for what you bring to the table. (And it better be good.)

If you have the goods, or if you want to contribute to a slush fund to buy more takedowns (probably not tax deductible), please contact me at: glennbecksextape@gmail.com.

Notice that he wants to use your  money to do it.  At least Andrew Breibart offered to used his own!  But hey.  This is just a little more spreading the wealth around, right?  Iam sure he would be ableto get a little Obama Porkulus money to pay for such an important thing, right?
